Elliott Summey is an entrepreneur, small business man and commercial real estate developer working as the Senior Vice President for Weber USA. His primary role is leading the sustainable master planning effort for a large tract of land in North Charleston known as Ingleside Plantation. Along with his various business dealings, Elliott is also a Charleston County Council Member (District 3) and serves as that body's Vice Chairman. He also serves as the Chairman of Charleston County's Economic Development Committee, is a member of the Council's Finance committee, Planning/Public Works committee, Administration Policy/Rules committee, and Recycling/Solid Waste committee. Elliott also represents Charleston County Council as the Chairman of the Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) Board, a member of the Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments, the Chairman of Charleston Area Transportation Study Committee, and the Board of Directors of the Charleston Animal Society. He graduated from North Charleston High School in 1995. Elliott received his BA in 1999 in History from the College of Charleston. In 1999, he was appointed by then Governor Jim Hodges to the South Carolina Board of Juvenile Parole where he represented the 1st Congressional District for a four year term. In 2002, Elliott served on the Economic Development Transition Team for newly elected Governor Mark Sanford. In 2009, the Charleston Regional Business Journal named Elliott one of its 40 Under 40 award recipients for his impact on both the business and civic sectors.
